What wants to emerge?
And what is in the way?
The answers to these questions are different for each of us at different moments in our lives. I offer a therapeutic space where together we can explore what they mean for you. And maybe you bring your own questions.
I draw on humanistic and psychodynamic therapies. A humanistic approach is holistic and affords us the depth and breadth to work with your full range of experience. I practice close listening, attunement, and collaboration so we can attend to what is arising in the moment. A psychodynamic approach cultivates insight and healing of attachment wounds. It can help disentangle patterns that protected you in the past and are no longer serving you.
I am EMDR-trained by the Midwest Center for EMDR Training, an EMDRIA approved program. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a well-researched, effective method that helps people recover from symptoms of trauma, including anxiety and depression. You can learn more about EMDR here: https://youtu.be/Pkfln-ZtWeY
I have four years of experience as a mental health counselor at a community health clinic. My educational background is diverse and supports engagement in a variety of contexts. I hold an MS in Mental Health Counseling from University of Massachusetts Boston, a PhD in Economics from University of Massachusetts Amherst with an emphasis on political economy of the environment, an MS in Ecological Economics from University of Vermont, and a BS in Art from University of Wisconsin Madison.

A Door
This is a place where a door might be
here where I am standing
In the light outside all the walls
there would be a shadow here
all day long
and a door into it
where now there is me
and somebody would come and knock
on this air
long after I have gone
and there in front of me
a life would open
